DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND BELONGING (DEI)

The National Panhellenic Council is the “premier advocacy and support organization for the advancement of the sorority experience,” and we strive to embody that same commitment within our local community. As both a Panhellenic community and an executive board, our goal is to foster an inclusive, enriching, and empowering sorority experience for all.

Goals

Our conference upholds six core values: Friendship, Leadership, Service, Knowledge, Integrity, and Community. However, these values cannot be fully realized without fostering inclusion and a true sense of belonging—something that many have historically been denied. We are committed to changing that.

Our creed states:
"The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live."

We are dedicated to turning these words into action. Let us uplift those in need, respect those around us, and create spaces where every woman can find belonging in college. Together, we will break down historic barriers and build a more equitable, diverse, and welcoming Panhellenic community.

Our Vision

A Panhellenic community where all women—regardless of race, sexuality, religion, ability, or socioeconomic background—feel a true sense of belonging.

Mission Statement

To collaborate with campus and community leaders to create lasting, meaningful, and equitable change within Panhellenic culture. Without equity, there is no true belonging—and without belonging, there is no true sisterhood.

We pledge to take action, challenge outdated norms, and ensure that Panhellenic is a place where every woman can thrive.

Hi everyone!!!

Panhellenic is built on the strength of women supporting women, and as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), my goal is to make sure every member in our community feels valued, heard, and empowered to be their authentic self.We want Panhellenic to be more than just an organization, it should feel like home. A place where we celebrate each other’s differences, lift each other up, and create real, lasting change. That means having important conversations, advocating for one another, and making sure every woman feels safe and supported. If you ever feel like something isn’t right, whether you’re facing an unfair situation or struggling to find your place, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We’re here to listen, support, and advocate for you. Your voice is important, and together, we can create a Panhellenic community where every woman feels valued, included, and empowered.

- Moriah Dickey, Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)The College of Charleston Panhellenic Council is committed to fostering a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive sorority community. We acknowledge that, historically, our organization and chapters have been composed almost exclusively of white women.

To address the racial, economic, and social inequities that persist within our community, we have established this DEI Committee—an extension of the Panhellenic Executive Board. This committee exists to empower Panhellenic women, challenge systemic barriers, and create meaningful change.
