PANHELLENIC COUNCIL

The Panhellenic Association (PHA) is the largest women’s organization on campus! It is the governing body of the 8 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities at COFC. The bond of sisterhood is a special relationship that all sorority women share in their individual sororities and together within the Panhellenic community

A Letter From Our President,

Welcome to the official website of the College of Charleston Panhellenic Council! My name is Bennett Sanborn, and I am honored to serve as Panhellenic President. We are thrilled that you are interested in learning more about our community and the chapters that define what it means to be a Panhellenic woman.

Our Panhellenic community is made up of more than 1,700 women who are committed to serving others, pursuing academic excellence, and leading within our beautiful campus. The College of Charleston is home to eight chapters: Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Sigma Kappa, and Zeta Tau Alpha. Each chapter plays a meaningful and impactful role in creating a welcoming and inspiring environment that makes us proud to be Panhellenic women at CofC.

While each chapter is unique, they are united by a shared purpose with a larger organization. Our chapters are rooted in promoting the highest academic success, community service, campus involvement, sisterhood, and social engagement. Membership offers countless opportunities for personal development, leadership, and meaningful involvement both on campus and throughout the greater Charleston community.

I went through recruitment in the Fall of 2024 and remember feeling exactly how you might be feeling now– excited for what was ahead, yet overwhelmed by the idea of finding a new home. I had so many questions, but from the moment I stepped on campus and began the recruitment process, I felt nothing but encouragement, love, and belonging. I quickly realized I would find a place where I could be my authentic self and grow into a stronger friend, leader, and sister. Discovering a home away from home, a support system, and lifelong friendships is truly indescribable. I can confidently say I would not be the person I am today without being a member of the Panhellenic community. The connections I have built with Panhellenic women who are driven, genuine, and strive to be their best every day have shaped me in countless ways.

Serving as a leader within this community has only reinforced everything I believe about Panhellenic life. I am beyond grateful for the opportunities I have received and I am ecstatic to welcome a new class into our community. Each member is passionate, committed, and has made a lasting impact on our campus. We are so excited for you to begin your own journey within the Panhellenic community and discover the organization that will soon feel like your second home.

With love,

Bennett Sanborn
